I dunno. I got the idea she was a woman who was just quirky and kooky enough to lead a seriously unconventional life. I didn't feel a self pity vibe coming from the lady. She seemed to be OK with what she was doing. Some people find special niches in life, yes, even unusually unique ones. You get the idea she was a little cracked maybe, but was an optimist and a do-gooder.
Nothing wrong with that.
RIP Anniea/Gloria

@Amrita: C'est la vie, non? ;-) She was spunky enough to take on life on her own terms, however bad they became towards her last days.

@tom: Thank you for dropping by, Tom...I agree, old people deserve their own (cranky/optimistic/unconventional ;-)) space and the independance that they can afford to still hold on to... in her case, I wish she'd had someone around to have protected that space rather than her trying her best to maintain it and failing. RIP.
