An Acceptable Substitute for Light

The Crepuscular Theory of Light
- Richard W. Halperin

That light in it's purest form is found
In jazz heard on a summer night;

That light is drinkable in any
Colour one chooses, as the mad know;

That we think light bends because we bend -
Racine knew better: it's a hatchet;

That where she lives now is a bossa
Nova of light, as when she lived here;

That just to to think of her name is an
Acceptable substitute for light.
